This 100% intended for the love of my life, B. Yesterday, we hopped in the car with our (almost 3 year old) aussi and drove down to the beach and picked up falafel from our favourite falafel place (the good thing about Toronto is that there’s a pretty awesome selection of Lebanse food when you go looking for it). I love our little adventures.

From February 14th to 29th, we all anticipated the arrival of a very special lady.

Sure enough on March 2^nd at 5:30pm, Maya Georgina was born to two of the most amazing parents in the world, Alin & Alina. All weekend we oooed and aweed, but her biggest fan? Her big brother Luca with his endless kisses. Congratulations! we wish you all the love and happiness in the world..xo

I can’t begin to tell you how many issues of LCBO Food & Drink we flip through for inspiration on food, cocktails and entertaining – it is by far our favorite seasonal freebie. Last thanksgiving, it was their easy root vegetable dish that wowed us and our guests, and this Valentine’s they have some pretty sweet martini’s worth giving a try, especially if you’ve decided to skip your reservation and stay in tonight.

With fresh ingredients, the Manchester and Strawberry Martini’s are my favorite. J Happy Valentines!

1. Apple Martini: vodka, Sour Apple liqueur, Garnish: Sliced Apple, Granny Smith (recipe here)

2.Manchester Martini: Gin, Grand Marnier, raspberry juice, lemonade. Garnish with a fresh raspberry. (recipe here)

3. Strawberry Martini: strawberries, sugar, vodka, triple sec or Cointreau. Garnish: 3 strawberry halves skewered (recipe here)

3. Three things every girl loves and the OPI Shades that complement: Bubble Bath, Heartthrob and France.

 This weekend was filled with sweet surprises, first I came across this cupcake & champagne recipe (via Creature Comoforts) from Cupcake Perfecto a little cupcake shop in Madrid and then, thanks to google translate, I instantly translated this great one. The best part is their sweet raspberry filling and the champagne buttercream. I baked these on Saturday and then spent Sunday morning doodling on cupcake tops.

3. I love coco tee from Scotch and Soda, the Amsterdam-based fashion brand that newly launched boutique at Toronto’s Eaton Centre.

4. Black suede pumps from Montreal-based, community driven brand Locale that I am anxiously awaiting to arrive at my doorstep.

5. Colour Block Clutch Bag, $49 Zara

6. Stunning Heels. A product of Aldo’s designer collaboration (Aldo Rise), providing designers the opportunity to create their own footwear collections – pretty awesome, I love it. The full S/S12 collection is said to be showcased on Monday.
